Do you want to hit it closer from inside 100 yards?
Pitching is a very important part of the short game. This is an area where when playing and pitching well allows you to score very low. It is likewise a part of the game when playing not at your best can keep the score down. As this is not a power part of the game we can all make this really strong to the point that with practice you should be able to land a ball within two yards of the previous shot.
Sounds simple but there are some fundamentals that have to be adhered to. Ball position as with other areas of the game is extremely important. It must be middle of the stance unless you are trying to change the ball flight from the norm.
If it is less than a full shot the width of stance should be reduced gradually from3/4 to ½ or ¼ swing. Below are some pictures showing different lengths of backswing which will allow you to hit 3 different length shots with each wedge you have plus your full swing so 4 in total. As most players these days carry 3 wedges that will give you 12 different yardages with practice.
Finally it is important that in all these length of swings you make a reasonably full follow through to keep the tempo of the swing at its best.
The Pearson team roll on
The Pearson team had another great result against the Hertfordshire keeping they're hopes of qualifying alive. I think one more win could secure a place in the knockout stages.
Well done, girls keep it up!!
