The video link shows clearly in slow motion how to play a competent bunker shot. Mostly it is about set up.
As you will see the ball position is opposite the left heel and a lot of weight is in the left knee whilst keeping the spine in a central position.
The clubface position is almost flat to the sand so allowing the bounce on the club to be used to its maximum, which will with practice prevent you from duffing a shot.
There after it is just like playing a standard pitch shot using varying length swings to control the distance.
No need to worry about the bunkers anymore if this is applied on the course.

Well done Jamie Gerrad.
3 man team tournament qualifiers
It was great to see under extremely trying conditions on Sunday Tony Mardon, Terry Cooper and Jimmy Paul qualify for the finals of the club 3 man team tournament.
Well battled guys!!
Easter scramble
Last Thursday was the Ladies fun Easter Scramble in which I played 2 holes with each group. I had a great time and I think I managed to contribute to each teams score.
Definitely something we will do again.
