The drill pictured and described below helps us to practice effectively and with constant feed back as to the results of our labours.
The cones used can of course be substituted with tees or anything easily visible.
The cones pictured are 1 yard apart and the alternate colours make it easier to see landing areas when chips are practiced. The idea of this drill is to use at least the clubs pictured (and possibly to an 8 iron inclusive) making a chipping swing of a comfortable length and seeing where the ball lands in relation to the cones, and then how far it runs after landing.
Obviously this will vary with each club, but it will give you a great insight into which clubs to use to deal with course situations effectively and therefore leaving a shorter putt for your par or hopefully birdie.
The Men's winter doubles final is this Sunday so best of luck to Dave and Benny and also Steve and Freddie.
If necessary please let this group through if they are pressing you as they do have 36 holes to cover that day.

How does £25 for your old battery sound?
We’ll give you £25 when you trade in your old battery against a new Lithium one, or a trolley with a Lithium battery. Lithium offerings are quicker charging, last longer and work out cheaper in the long run – so this is the perfect time to say goodbye to Lead Acid.
